BHSN DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS
alt_text
Being at school every day is an important part of your student’s success. If your student needs to be out, please call the attendance line at (812) 349-4704. A quick call helps us excuse absences when appropriate and keeps everyone on the same page. Indiana law requires a meeting after 5 unexcused absences and a letter to the prosecutor after 10, so your call makes a big difference.

Do you want to be involved with helping out animals in local shelters? BHSN has now started an Animal Advocacy Club, where you can participate in activities to help animals in need such as volunteering at local shelters, baking dog/cat treats, and crafting blankets and toys. Sign up for the Animal Advocacy Club Callout Meeting in Mrs. Domizlaff’s tutorial room 410 on November 13th to get more information!

There will be a DECA Meeting in Mr. Sample's classroom (309) next Wednesday, November 11th during Tutorial. All DECA members should be present and ready to sign-up for District Competitions and have dues ready to be paid.

theatre

BHSN Theatre presents our fall show, Naomi Iizuka’s The Last Firefly. In a stormy forest, a young boy searches for his father, who just happens to be thunder! He must navigate the dangers of the forest to find the power within himself to make his way back home.

This Japanese Kabuki inspired fairy tale begins Friday, November 13th at 7pm. Shows will also be Saturday November 14th at 2pm & 7pm, and finally on Sunday, November 15th at 2pm. While it is suitable for all ages, we recommend parents with children under six years old to exercise caution.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and all MCCSC staff and faculty are free. You can purchase your tickets here at the door, however all shows will take place in The Blackbox, so seating is limited. Get your tickets today!

Donate blood to our fall blood drive!

Do you want to help contribute your blood to save members of our community? One in seven individuals will need a blood product sometime in their life - whether cancer, surgery, or childbirth. This charitable act can be accomplished by signing up for any time slot on November 17th during the school day. One donation will save three lives! A pass will be sent to take you out of class for about 45 minutes to an hour. By donating, you will receive snacks, soda, and free sweatpants! You must be at least sixteen years of age, and bring a valid ID with you (bus passes don’t count). Students who are sixteen must have parental permission (attached below). The form must be brought, printed out, and signed. A PDF with the height and weight requirements is also attached below.
If you have any questions, you can contact bhsnstuco@gmail.com, visit their web page at versity.org, or visit our table in the commons during all lunches starting on November 9th.

Versiti supplies about 90 hospitals, many in the state of Indiana. They rely mostly on young donors to strengthen their blood supply, and go through about 500 units a day (Each person only gives one.) Please make a local impact and save Indiana lives!

Thank you for your generous participation and don’t forget to sign up by visiting our tables during lunch!
