BHSN DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS
alt_text
Being at school every day is an important part of your student’s success. If your student needs to be out, please call the attendance line at (812) 349-4704. A quick call helps us excuse absences when appropriate and keeps everyone on the same page. Indiana’s new law requires a meeting after 5 unexcused absences and a letter to the prosecutor after 10, so your call makes a big difference.

Attention all cougars!
Come by the auditorium on Tuesday, aka the FIRST tutorial of the year, on January 13th for another round of the Cougar Clash tournament, North's one and only game show which is also inspired by Family Feud! The competition this round will be the English vs the previously winning team, Health/P.E. departments, with the winner advancing to the next round in the competition. Sign up under any of the contestants or Pfanschmidt. Can't wait to see you there!

The dentist is coming to our school on April 1st! The School Smiles dental program provides on-site dental care at our school for ALL students that sign up to participate. The dental team will set up inside our school and they accept Medicaid, private insurance, offer self-pay rates and grants through their foundation. Registration is now open online at: www.schoolsmiles.com/student-signup with over 100 languages to choose from when completing the online form. As a reminder, School Smiles requires a new registration form be filled out each school year.

Tuesday, January 13th,  we will have a guest from the Bloomington Energy Works project here to tell us about an exciting project the city is sponsoring to improve energy efficiency and sustainability for Bloomington residents. The project goals include: reducing energy costs for low-income residents, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and raising awareness about opportunities for people to get help with energy projects.

More information can be found here: https://www.bloomingtonenergyworks.com

The project is looking for motivated volunteers to assist. If you are able, please join to find out more!
Sign up on the tutorial scheduler!

Track and field preseason conditioning will begin on Tuesday, January 13th after school for anyone interested in running track this year, and that is currently not in a winter sport.  We will meet in the commons between the gym and auditorium.  Conditioning days will be Monday through Thursday from 3:00 to 4:30. The first official day of track practice is February 16th.  Any questions can be directed to coach Helmer at jhelmer@mccsc.edu
