Staff Appreciation Breakfast this month--Please Sponsor a Staff Member!
Attention BHSN Families: May is Teacher Appreciation Month!  
Is there a BHSN teacher or staff member you want to give a special shout-out to for making this school year extra amazing? Cougars for Better Education (North's PTO) invites you to thank a teacher or staff member for their hard work and dedication during this school year. If you'd like to sponsor a staff member for the annual Staff Appreciation Breakfast the day after school gets out, you can send in a check, made out to C4BE, to the Main Office by Friday, May 15th. Or you can donate through venmo @BHSNC4BE (last 4 digits of phone 6470). $15 will cover the cost of a delicious catered breakfast for a staff member and is a great way to say thanks to your favorite BHSN staff member(s). Donations can remain anonymous, or if you would like to write a note of thanks yourself feel free to add that in the comments of venmo or email to Kelly Stegemoller at krstegemoller@gmail.com (multiple notes welcome!)  We will make sure those teachers/staff receive your handwritten words of thanks in their mailbox and we will be certain all our phenomenal staff at BHSN feels appreciated for another great year.  It takes a village to teach and encourage all our students and we have an outstanding village at North! ATTENTION STUDENT POETS!
The BHSN Choir is commissioning pieces of music for next year, and we want to use your words. Please submit original poetry for consideration!
What: Original student poetry to be written and set to music by composers for the choir to perform next spring.
Who: BHSN students - any!
When: Poems should be sent to Dr. Boveroux (cboverou@mccsc.edu) no later than May 15. Music will be performed in May of 2027.
Why: The choirs are hiring two composers to set original student texts for our ensembles next spring. Our composers will each select a text that our students write which speaks to them and set it for different choirs to be performed in our May 2027 concert.
Other details: Thematically, our composers are interested in poetry that deals with some of the following themes: Time (its cycle, its passage), Nature (wilderness, the wild, the spiritual aspect of nature). One composer also suggested a story or short dialogue.
Length of poem should be no more than 30 lines, and should be at last 15.

Bloomington North Dance Marathon Executive Board Applications Are Now Open! 
Are you interested in making a difference, building leadership skills, and supporting Riley Hospital for Children? Now is your chance to get involved!
We are looking for dedicated, responsible, and passionate students to serve on next year’s Bloomington North Dance Marathon Executive Board. There are a variety of roles available, including fundraising, event planning, publicity, morale, and more—so there’s a place for many different strengths and interests. Bloomington North Dance Marathon is a student-led club at North that is dedicated to raising critical funding and awareness for Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
While prior experience is appreciated, it is not required—just a willingness to work hard, collaborate with others, and support an incredible cause. If you’re interested, please complete the application by Friday, May 8. See Mrs. DeWitt in Room 610 with any questions!
